One weekend in Victoria and two communal events. As noted in a prior post, on Saturday, Zombies were afoot.
Sunday brought a Marathon and 11,000 runners from around the world. Two thousand ran the full 42 km.
Settling into small groups…
…and floating on air.
Victoria lawyer Adam Campbell finisnished 6th, but broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest “marathon in a suit.”
As the field thinned, heading for the finish line, Victoria’s low key community spirit showed itself.
Approaching the finish, runners were bolstered by the senior cheerleading squad.
But in the end they were on their own…
…alone…on a weekend that captured Victoria’s unique brand of diversity.
