Young Heron’s Rock

Last Spring, the Great Blue Herons returned to nest high in the trees of Beacon Hill Park…and there was a beauty of a generation gap, with the wizened old guard standing stoical…like the Phantom of the Pond.

While the young ones explored…sporting their punk hairstyles, as if born with “product”.

A whole new world of fine dining.

But it was in the tree tops that they were nurtured…

and would really spread their wings…

You’ve been watching great blue herons on Vancouver Island and we’ve been doing the same in Florida. They are endlessly fascinating and a joy to watch for two folks brought up in Ohio!
